Meghalaya in Monsoon: Is It Worth the Trip?
Cherrapunji gets some of the heaviest rainfall on Earth — here's what that actually means for a Shillong-Cherrapunji trip, and how our tempo traveller routes work around it.
Read StoryThe single most common question we get before a booking: "which vehicle do we actually need?" Here's the short version.
A common mistake: booking a 13-seater for exactly 13 people. On paper it fits, but with a multi-day trip's worth of luggage, it's a tight ride. We always recommend booking one size above your headcount if your budget allows it.
Both get you there. The Urbania's taller cabin and individual captain seats make the biggest difference on trips over 4–5 days, or on long hill-route days like Guwahati to Tawang. For a 2-day Kaziranga run, most groups are perfectly happy in a standard Tempo Traveller and save the difference.
If your group is closer to 15–16, a single 26-seater will feel emptier and won't be the most cost-efficient choice — a 17-seater is usually the better fit, with the option to add a Winger or sedan alongside it if a few extra seats are needed.
Tell us the exact headcount and roughly how much luggage per person (day-trip vs. multi-day), and we'll recommend the vehicle honestly — including telling you when a smaller, cheaper option will do the job just as well.
Send us your headcount and trip length — we'll recommend the right Tempo Traveller or Urbania variant in minutes.
